I worked with a man who actually did this after his wife left him. He made a noose out of fencing wire and put it round his throat, then he got in the car after tying the end of it to a post and left a heap of it slack on the passenger seat. He put his foot down and sped down the hill.He got about 200mtrs down the road at about 80kmh and "poing"! I had to answer a whole heap of questions to police at the time ( as I was one of the last people he spoke to ) and I found out that his neighbour rang police after finding him in his drivers seat with no head.They ended up finding it under the passenger seat! Nobody could have ever thought that would ever happen or he was ever thinking like that, so it goes to show that you never can tell sometimes what people are thinking.
Some other stories emerged from his friends that he also had tried to fill a shed with gas and he sat in there for ages but all that happened is he got sick. Dunno what gas it was. BBQ gas maybe.
