Well 16 is the age of the sexual maturity here and in many other european countries.

Now if he had jumped her while she was on her way home from bible school and dragged her into the bushes, it would be a different story, but they were both willing and apparently able participants, so they should be treated like all kids who fuck up.

I agree revolva, rape as far as I'm concerned is sex without consent.
Yes, she was young, but she doesn't seem to be too bothered.
There's only 4 years in age difference, and although 15 year old girls tend to be mature for their age, boys do not.
He shouldn't be charged with rape, he made a mistake, a very foolish one, but he doesn't deserve to be labelled a rapist for it.

Not to be crude/open a can of worms, but I would have marched my little ass down to the clinic, if you know what I am saying.

And I seriously think the rape charge is completely ludicrous. I find these statutory rape cases usually are.

I feel pretty much the same as you, atomie.
It's not encouraging them to be sexually active, but in my experience, if a kid is gonna do it, they're gonna do it regardless.
I'd rather be safe than sorry.

Saying that I would always try to dissuade an under 16yr old from having sex ( whether they have a method of contraception or not) I do feel that under that age their bodys and minds arent mature enough to handle things like babies or std's.( thats coming from a 15yr old mom)
Im a pretty open person and I hope my girls ( & boys for that matter) would feel comfortable enough to come to me If they needed any questions answered.
