Norwegian Man Caught Smuggling Reptiles
Norwegian authorities have arrested a 22-year-old man for smuggling pythons by taping them to his body.
The Norwegian man, who was arrested in Oslo yesterday, smuggled the reptiles in underneath his clothes. Customs officials became suspicious when the man, who arrived on a passenger ferry from Denmark, was stopped for a spot check. When they found a tarantula in his bag, they decided to search further. It wasn't long before they uncovered the brazen plan. A body search revealed the 22-year-old was carrying 14 baby pythons and 10 albino gecko lizards strapped to his body. Photos show how the man had taped several layers of pouches around his chest and legs. He said he had bought them in Denmark, where they are legal, and had intended to keep them himself.

It's illegal because the authorities were concerned the reptiles would interfere with our ecosystems... this was 50 or so years ago.
We are working to make it legal, and the government is going to discuss it during their next 4 years in parliament.
