They arrested him for tampering with evidence and marijuana possession.
He sounded black on the 911 call but he is actually a white guy. People in Brunswick are worried there is a mass murderer on the loose. If the victims were in fact beaten to death the story seems odd, no one heard anything? How does one beat 8 people to death other than by tying them up? ![]()

Tampering with evidence, eh?
I am getting flashes of The DeFeo Murders from Long Island, N.Y. (Amityville). That family was murdered in the night while they slept, and the killer ran elsewhere to alert outsiders of the tragedy. One pattern I've seen in homicide cases like this that rings a familiar bell is when the young, strong (sole surviving) family member stumbles on the scene and needs to run and get someone else involved by either borrowing their phone or asking them to go in and report what they see. Similar to Heinz, DeFeo ran from the gore at his parents house to the local bar and had the patrons there call police. Another time tested ploy we've all seen is for the killer to do his work and then have it arranged for someone else to stumble upon the crime scene so they can make the report. Anyhow, I think the cause of death will determine what happens next. I'd put money on Guy Heinze, Jr. for being the perp.

Yeah the tampering with evidence thing sounds extremely suspicious. They would not have charged him for merely handling the victims out of concern.
Though I do think most people that walked into a mass murder scene would leave and call the police from next door if possible. They would be pretty freaked out especially if they were not armed.

I thought about it and imagined what I'd do if I walked into a scene like that, and my first instinct would be to run and get help from a neighbor.
If there were signs of life I'd stay and try to help and call from there, but you're right, I'd get the hell out of there too. Only reason I referenced that behavioral pattern is because several murderers did this as well and professed their innocence until proven otherwise. Two things come to mind with that. They were following a premeditated plan doing what a normal/innocent person would do, or they were truly disassociated from the crime and believed they had nothing to do with it. It will be interesting to see where this goes.
