.mkv to .mpeg

I am using tmpg express and cccp codecs pack and it seems to be working,but is gonna be 10 hours to convert,wtf.

Any quicker path to take?

tmpg express is slow at the best of times, though it does generally give better results. Try winavi, not 100% sure if it does .mkv but it generally does everything I throw at it.

winavi seemed like it was gonna do it,but gave up before it started and went back to main screen with no error message or anything.

Is this the codec pack you installed? http://www.cccp-project.net/ Winavi is supposed to do em.

yep,I may have needed to mess with some settings,but someone was standing over my shoulder wanting "Antichrist" now! lol

still gonna be 10 hours,but progress was seen using tmpg express.lol

first off why are you wanting to take that step down in quality making .mkv into .mpeg?

if it's a player problem use The KMPlayer which will play almost ANYthing, without the need to DL codecs or anything. it's a lot like VLC but with a better interface and more flexibility.

but if you must convert it to mpeg, the easiest thing i can suggest is to use SUPER video converter.

its the bomb, also is multi-threaded if you have a dual or quad core. its pay though so you will need to yarr it. best converter out imo
