What are you looking for?

a specific model? or just general suggestions for a "good" laptop?

I bought it last friday (well, we actually bought 3 at the office). Can't beat the machine for the price... $ 349.00 plus tax... 15.6" display, AMD Athlon 64, 3 GB mem ram, 160G hard drive... oh, free software upgrade to WIN 7 whenever comes out.

It is a fast machine...

Again, for $ 349.00 plus tax.

A good buy.

Why do you want a "wireless network"?

Make sure your internet provider gives you a wireless modem, and the machine will find it automatically.

this one you are looking at has Vista, and even it sux the linking is extremely simple.

Best Buy doesn't necessarily mean it's any good. If I may suggest Toms Hardware (www.tomshardware.com) for excellent objective reviews. I prefer to find out if a product offers what's required, and then look for the best price. This is a very useful resource to help with decision making.

tigerdirect
newegg
microcenter

check the daily specials and sign up for email deal alerts, check the sites daily as some deals vanish within 24 hours.

Tiger usually has the best deal on extended 3 year warranty, never buy a laptop with only the standard warranty.

Laptops are disposable junk to begin with, they are completely made of proprietary parts and something as simple as a power supply overheating can ruin a motherboard and once out of warranty the parts cost alone can reach the original purchase price of a laptop.

Tigerdirect offers a 3 year accidental damage warranty for $159, the first year of warranty is covered by the mfg. After the first year the purchased warrant comes into effect

4 years warranty works out to about $40 a year.

Laptops suck fwiw
