Infected (Trojan/s)
Ironically the other day I went to find anti-virus software on a couple of torrent sites, and all of the sudden I am obviously infected.
I have the free version of AVG, it cleaned out 6 but apparently there are more. I also installed Malwarebytes (thank you CurdledPus) and it keeps telling me there are bad ip addresses (linked to the trojans), but it ain't doing a damn thing to get RID of them! When I hit the google all links go to fake sites. Any ideas? Any direct links to easy to download anti-virus programs (torrent or none) that do not require tricky installation stuff? I need assistance; please kind techies help me out here. : (

Some are good (okay probably not the ones showing up on my lame anti-virus programs) but some will wipe out your bank account. Yeah okay if it were after bank account info it would not be fucking up google searches. : )

I tried to give you some advice on this situation but since you ignored the question in chat you obviously don't want the help all the much. Let me know if you would like some advice being I had the same thing happen.
If not, egh * shrugs *

everytime i got fed up with the virus, i installed a fresh xp, but by then the virus has gotten my storage media, literally everywere, that's why first thing after installing xp, i installed a DeepFreeze, then an antivirus, by that it means that your antivirus not really installed, clean everything, restart, turn off the Deepfreeze, install the real antivirus then you are clean, but.....can never resist the temptation of torrents lol

Please check out & try FREE for 60 days http://www.bullguard.com/try.aspx I highly recommend it. Please keep in mind I don't talk trash unlike many folks in all walks of life. I have also not given you a hot link to gain any compensation from BullGuard what so ever. 2 months free with no limitations. Download BullGuard 1st. Then Un-install AVG & Re-boot. Then Install BG. You will have to reboot again. It will tell you this. After booting up it will check for updates. After that you will have to reboot for the last time. The last reboot is for a large update for BG which requires a reboot. Go through your options. If you want advice or screen-shots of what I prefer I will do that for you. You may just want to keep it in "Beginner Mode" That's fine too. You may know some choices in the "Expert Mode" & would encourage you doing so. IF & I mean IF you insist on using a free free Anti-virus I recommend "Avast" http://www.filehippo.com/download_avast_antivirus/ or http://www.avast.com/eng/avast_4_home.html Avast will give ask you if you want to do a bootime scan. Choose yes. As for this latest release of Malwarebytes & this "IP Protection" one, I don't like it because you cannot turn it off permanently. After booting up simply "right click" on the icon in your task bar & Un-check "IP Protection". Problem solved. If you wold like to see what IP's were blocked go to C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\Malwarebytes\Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware & then use your favourite IP tracer to find out more info. If you want to, make a shortcut on your desktop for easy reference for this folder. I have not looked into the benefits yet to the IP blocking. I will report back when I do. Soon I hope. Feel free to ask any questions you may have.
