Thank you Kasperov, I am running that online scan now.

CurdledPus I downloaded the bullguard trial version 3 times and each time it quite literally "disappeared". I think it is being blocked, I could actually see the file appear at the beginning of the download then poof, it would disappear (even though it finished the full download after 10 minutes).

I even tried to find that file through the dos/command prompt and it did not exist there either.

Rorer thanks, if the Kasperov scan does not work I may try that next. The IT guys at work said I should just reformat the hard drive...ugh. Since antivirus software is such big business I would think some program could get this shit cleaned up.

I totally agree with you. I'm backing up everything now as I speak to do just this.

I need an anti virus scanner....something free and effective. Or alternately if anyone knows how to restore an original factory installed antivirus program that was already there when I bought the P.C (Mcafee) accidentally deleted from programs. I hate tool bars coz they slow down your P.C when turning on, so I don't use them. Actually, Since accidentally deleting a lot of security programs and leaving myself wide open to infection, I've never been infected and my P.C is faster than it ever was......so I dunno what that's all about...

Mcafee is even less protection then AVG. They both suck BAD BAD. You're better off without Mcafee. Did you try to properly Un-install it when you accidentally deleted the folder?? That's very important. I'm going by your words "deleted" or did you mean uninstall? Totally different terminologically.
Yes with no Anti-virus most PC's will fly. That because it's not in a "real-time" mode.
If you see no uninstall choices like in the folder they were installed in or in Add/Remove in your Control Panel try these: I use jv16 PowerTools to do mine http://www.macecraft.com/jv16powertools2009/ FREE FOR 30 DAYS FULLY FUNCTIONAL. They also now offer a totally free reg cleaner that ONLY cleans the registry here AFTER the 30 days runs out http://www.macecraft.com/ptlite/

These are free

If you installed it with the Microsuck installer you can try this "Windows Installer Cleanup Utility" Careful with this. http://support.microsoft.com/kb/290301

After all that is taken care of why don't you check out BullGuard Anti-virus free for 60 DAYS FIRST. You have nothing to lose & you can post back here on how you liked & what it WILL find when you do a manual scan every 2 weeks or so depending on you're surfing habits.
I really try to discourage folks from relying on the free Anti-virus programs.
How much did you pay for the PC? Do you know how to reinstall your OS? If yes, do you have the install disk to be even able to do that? Would you cry a little or even stress, worry, be very unhappy etc if you lost all your data on your PC if it got wiped out? Do you have backups of everything you don't want to lose?
These are questions for everyone to ask themselves including me.

revolva. Read my post back one page from this.

the guy that said "format c:" is probably right. back up all your files and reformat and reinstall. i do this anyway every 2 years or so. if you've got multiple viruses then i have my doubts about most of these antivirus progs ability to get rid of them. they can get rid of the ones they create themselves but the viruses the competitors write and the real bonafide viruses present a challenge. av programs are one of the most elaborate scams there are today, so it's important that you have a good one, even though in an honest world the most piddly one would likely serve
