So this is the wrong section but idc.

I'm in another forum and they want to set the age restriction to view their porn material to 16+ but in the United States and Canada you have to be 18+ to view porn. What will happen to them? Anything?

When you think about it, they might as well. By the time most kids are 16, they already have their own stash of the stuff. Just sayin'.

I'm aware, but once again, I was JUST SAYING.
To answer your question, I believe it depends on where whoever put up the site's location is,
but if they are in fact in Canada or the US, the site will simply be taken down.

I found out the sites server is located where porn is viewable by anyone over the age of 16.

So that makes it okay for Americans, too?

In most nations the legal age is 18, why wouldn't the admin just fucking go with that?

As you said, the server's in another country, where doing that is LEGAL.
And actually, in some states, the age to view porn is 21+.

It would go with where the server is hosted but anyone with any sense still sets it at 18+.

I've never been to a website that utilizes effective age screening measures. You can warn that someone has to be 16+, 18+, or 40+ to view your site, but there's no way to be sure. They just click "yes" or whatever.

Therefore, the site you're talking about might as well just set the age limit at 18+, because that number is only there to cover the site's ass. It doesn't really do anything other than ass-covering.

There is a way you can be "certain" but it involves putting credit card details in (which a kid could still do anyway) to confirm your age and people will just not do it. Obviously because it leaves you open to fraud etc.

I'm just really bothered by it because the site is mainly geared towards kids to younger teens. I just thought 18+ was the norm, but now I get it...

If the site is meant for kids and teens I wouldn't have any porn on it in the first place.

They call it 'The Naughty Section' and you need to pm a mod to get the password to it. But anyone can get it, no one really cares lol. I don't see why there even is a porn section since most of the members aren't even 18 yet. For fuck sakes my name hasn't changed yet.

those eighty or so people that are constantly in the porn section are one of the main reasons this place is still afloat.

an age restriction would only lessen the numbers browsing and only hurt the site.
