Actually, referring to HS's quote again, "primitive" both is and isn't the right word.

"Primitive" refers to culture and society, not genetic makeup. Saying that Africans (who never left Africa) are closer to the original homo sapiens than nearly all other races (who did migrate away from Africa) is purely logical. If logic is racist when the conclusion is seen as unflattering to Africans, then so be it. That's society's failing, not mine.

Even so, "primitive" does still apply to Africans. It is anthropological fact that native African society is, on average, far more primitive than every other race. There are plenty of tribes living quite literally in the Stone Age in Africa right now. Their spears are tipped with rock or animal bone, they herd cattle, live in huts, are incredibly superstitious, and any metal they own has ultimately been traded to them by Western society.

Now, does that mean an individual of African descent is a stupid primitive closer to apes than other races? No, it doesn't. There are educated, intelligent, cultured and wealthy persons of African descent living in the U.S., in Britain, and even in Africa itself.

But AS A RACE? Yes, absolutely, they're more primitive, closer relatives of our primate ancestors, and not quite as intelligent overall, though they're larger, stronger and better coordinated overall as well.

A lot of that is my opinion, of course, but it is based on science and logic.

I largely agree with this. But an association in terminology is often made associating 'less primitive' with a certain sense of favor, leading to xenophobia against what are perceivably more primitive cultures, followed by a sense of disgust and a feeling of entitlement for no good reason. The distinction between primitive vs. less primitive is not exactly clear and cut, but a line needs to be drawn. For all of our differences... Humans are not so different. (if that makes sense)

I can guarantee you there are people in the south of the United States who are likely every bit as superstitious as natives in Africa. (and they are probably Southern Baptist.) 'Wanting' to believe in a higher power is universal. But people actually BELIEVE in a man in the sky... Or a god of thunder, or that the constellation of Leo dictates the magnetic forces which cause cancer in the thyroid gland. Who the fuck knows.
What I am saying is, the nature of 'belief' and the stock that each society puts in it vs. tangible evidence, indicates that all groupings of humans seemingly have a predisposition towards delusion, regardless of geographical location or race.

Delusion is widespread and this would seem to indicate that humans, as a whole, are still largely primitive beings. When a difference in IQ and a failure to examine the true roles of primitive vs. less primitive and the role that these associations play in providing an identity towards a racial grouping that is not always true, and is used as justification to further exacerbate relations between those of different race and belief, it becomes problematic.
