New Federal Policy on Medical Marijuana
Health Buzz:
New Federal Policy on Medical Marijuana and Other Health NewsBy Megan Johnson Posted October 19, 2009 New Federal Guidelines on Medical Marijuana New guidelines to be issued today will cut medical marijuana distributors some slack in the 14 states that have laws permitting use of the drug for medical reasons, the Associated Press reports. Shifting away from the Bush administration's strict approach to prosecuting medical marijuana users and suppliers, the current administration will not look to arrest those who operate in accordance with state law, the AP reports. Instead, the guidelines urge federal prosecutors to focus their resources on people who violate those state laws or use medical marijuana as a cover for illegal activities, according to the AP. http://www.latimes.com/news/nationwo...tory?track=rss

I think Jesus is trying to tell me to not smoke pot anymore. I'm not listening, of course, however I've had a shitty couple of days because of it.
Now that I'm back in school I'm in a position that doesn't require having a job. As nice as all this free time has been, Uncover Reality and jerking off can only occupy so much of my day. To make things worse I'm an insomniac and the library is closed for renovations. Needless to say, I'm really fucking bored. So, I decided to get a job. Thanks to a friend I had a foot in the door; I was guaranteed an effortless search for employment. Everything started off fine. I met with the manager, discussed how I knew [insert friend's name here], filled out necessary paperwork, etc. I had the job before I even walked in the door. Then everything went to shit. He told me I'd have to take a drug test. This was fine with me (I expected a urine test) until he surprised me with, "Have you ever used one of these before?" It was a mouth swab test and I tested positive for THC. I reacted shocked and confused, and then offhandedly mentioned that I take prescription motrin for headaches. He was kind enough to refer me to a clinic that would test my urine more accurately. Things were looking up, or at least back according to plan. Wrong. WRONG. The next day I arrived at the clinic with a sample of my friend's little brother's urine stashed away in the tighty whities I was wearing. I did the pee pee dance, was allowed to skip ahead in line, handed over my I.D., emptied my pockets, was directed to the bathroom, and BAM! The lid broke somehow. Some little Armenian kid's piss flooded my jeans. I felt it run down my leg and, appropriately, soak into the clothing. The female clinic worker looked at me wide-eyed, and all I could manage was an, "Oops. I had an accident?" It sounded like a question. She thinks I pissed my pants. I'm embarrassed and I am no longer interested in employment at said location. The stench made the car ride the worst part of it all. ![]() |
