I voted for Obama solely because of this:

That, and I will never vote for a Republican, even if it means this country will be brought to ruin. The Republican party is king of pork barrel politics, big business bribes campaign contributions, special interest pandering/payola, Christian ideals and moral interpretations, and pretending the American people will receive tax breaks, when in fact the rich end up receiving far better tax breaks than any of the fat retards who toe the party line.

I mentioned Bernanke, not Bush. Bernanke is lying about the economy getting better. So the nature of lying isn't a question of republican vs. democrat and who does it more. They all lie. Don't be stupid and try to put words in my mouth.

The Republican Party is a great party to be part of. However, thanks to Bush, it's ruined.

Republicans need someone with common sense to represent them...because Glenn Beck and Rush Limbaugh aren't what you call: Classy or Sane.

Washington said it best: We need a small government.

And of course Reagan even said: The government isn't the solution, it's the problem.

What we need is a limited government, not an overwhelming one like we currently have.

Bush and other assorted idiots may have ruined the Republican party, but then that's what it is... ruined. I don't really remember what it was like nine years ago, but today the Republican party and I are on opposite sides of nearly every political issue.

I also can't stand Republican common dogma and rhetoric.

Yes you did but to slap the "R" at the end did appear to "blame" repubs. You are correct and I wasn't putting any words in your mouth. It was a statement of general observation.

You appear to be a tad thin skinned KAL and ought to stop calling me stupid. I mean you are a mod or does that give you permission to break the rules?

What Bernanke does or says doesn't reflect on President Obama in any way. It reflects, as was correctly implied, upon former President Bush and the Republican party, since Bernanke is a Republican and was appointed by Bush. The Fed chairman serves a four-year term once confirmed by the Senate, and that occurred in 2006. Even if Obama wanted to, he could not see Bernanke out of his seat until 2010.

But it's not so easy to just get rid of someone, politically. You have to have a reason, a motivation, and more importantly, a better replacement. Bernanke appears to support Obama's side publicly. Do you really think Obama's going to tell him, "Fuck off, what you say supports my agenda but you're not a Democrat, so...?" Of course not. If the man's doing his job, there's no reason to replace him just because some people from a spin-off gore forum think he might be lying.

As an aside, I very deeply, very sincerely doubt that anyone on this entire forum, myself certainly included (Obama included as well), understands the economy better than Bernanke. Either he's lying, or he isn't... thing is, you guys would never believe anyone who says the economy is recovering. You're dead set against that. You will only believe that it's going to shit, period, end of story.

The fact that you are unwilling to waver from this presupposition renders your opinions invalid, as such obstinacy is chock-full of logical fallacies.

People who think their vote is relevant don't realise American politics do not offer two sides of the coin--merely different parts of the same side which reads, "Dollar." As in give Yours to Them.

this is one of the most unacceptable and fucking abominable procedures to ever come into practice.

Think South Park said it best:

I like that line too and parrot it often whenever family and friends talk at me about politics.

I believe they said "shit sandwich" though.

I love the song on that episode..

the bilderberg group chooses who will become next President. The electronic voting machines are in place so that if they must fix the vote to make it so they may do so. There is only one party in the US goverment with two sides. Noone will ever be allowed to change that until the country has a revolution. I for one am waiting for that day...locked and loaded
