What will happen when America steps down from superpower?

If you have been reading the news, you know the US is in trouble. The new president, whom I favored over the competition, is printing cash as it was monopoly money and giving them to companies that are unable to pay it back due to their ineptitude.
Hyperinflation is just around the corner, unemployment keeps going up and the dollar loses power on a daily basis. For the doubters to this statement, just take a look at what's going on with some commodities, like oil and precious metals. Historically, silver directly counteracts the dollar, and it went from a bit over $ 9.80 on last December to over $ 15.00 about a month ago. People that know says it will be over $ 20.00 per ounce by the end of summer.
More so, Russia and China are buying every piece of gold they can find in the world and many see it as a sign that China will be using the gold to back up their currency, and many of the world currencies will adopt the same measure... something the US can't do right now.

My point is: who's going to step up to the plate once America cannot longer be policing and/or babysitting the rest of the world?

Military speaking I don't think that todays world really needs a superpower like that. Regarding "policing and/or babysitting" we now have organisations like NATO and UN.
The times where America can go around starting wars and nuking cities are definitely over.
In an economic sense I think China is now following in its footsteps. But that might not be for too long either. Their economy may be growing but it isn't a stable one.
The times of superpowers are just over as there are too many players now.

I wouldn't be surprised if someone didn't just nuke you once your down and out, you cant say us doesn't deserve it... But as far as I'm consurned Asuran is right. The time for power house country's is over.

have you seen the state of the jet stream right now? it's way south and the reason why we're getting so much rain in summer. if you could guarantee that the fall-out from an explosion would simply bathe sweden and finland and not us then i might have some sympathy with you on that. lol (btw)

Once America steps down?

America will not step down... and will not hand over the reigns to another country.

Simply, the world will blow up; the US will fire nuclear rockets at Russia and China, Russia and China will fire nukes at US, Canada and France. US, Russia, China will blow up, France will do nothing but whine about the losses of their moldy cheeses and fine wines or sumthin, Canada will finally get pissed off at how they aren't taking seriously and fire nukes at someone just so they can get in on the action, THAT missile will hit Australia, keef will perish and the world will be a better place.
