Polar Bear Attack

Polar Bear Attack in the High Arctic - This is from up in the Yukon , this chap is lucky to be alive. The guy survived the bear attack. The bear jumped on him while he was sleeping in his tent and he managed to get it off of him and shoot it.

That last pic has been posted so many times elsewhere in the past (no diss cos it's a great pic ) I just don't recall reading about it being part of a polar bear attack.
I'm not saying it's not, it's just odd that it doesn't refresh my memory.

Indeed I didn't know the story behind that pic either.

Yea you'd think with the massive, powerful jaws of a polar bear that the bone would also be removed. Seeing it appears to be a full, or half, bite.

Any other thoughts? It does look unrelated given my thought. But perhaps it was cleaned and dead flesh was removed and was previously a minor bite?

Dunno.

Yeah, I don't recall any story ever being posted with it before. That's why it struck me odd this time.
It's an odd injury for a bear attack.
