Crate training is the best and most effective way to housebreak and help in training your puppy/dog! It is not cruel! I have used this method with 100's of puppies/dogs! They look at it as if it was their "room"'! They learn with the proper scheudle to hold it untill the proper time. Dogs do not like to sit in "it" either so make sure and buy one that is big enough for them to lay down in a clean place and, if nessicary, crap or piss without laying in it. I can honestly recommend this as the BEST way. Also this method has many other benefits! I would have to send you, somehow, an example of how to create a scheudle,. etc...ie always use a command ,or saying like, "kennel up"" or "load up" when you put them in their room (crate). This opens up a line of communication between you and your dog/pup that you BOTH understand. Also, if there is ever an emergency all you have to say is "kennel up" they go in no prob, close the door pick up your calm and crated pet and get in the car! I used to get paid for this...Let me know if you would like more information and I will copy one my outlines and we can go from there! I like Bostons cause they have the personality of a large breed in the body of a non-shedding, non irritating, cute dog! Let me know and best of wishes

    I think you're just lazy.

But I'm on a diet of cigs and water for a lil bit.
