Favorite Book?

Looking for a brilliant way to find a new book to read.

So what's your favorite(or at least good) book and why?

Not my favorite, but I liked "For Whom The Bell Tolls" by Hemingway, it was pretty good. I liked the dialogue.

The King Must Die and its sequel The Bull From The Sea by Mary Renault are the best novels I have ever read.

Is a first person account of the life of Theseus (from Greek Mythology), and written from a historical perspective.

I liked The Lovely Bones about a girl that is killed and watches her family from heaven try to solve her murder.. Marley & Me is a feel-good read it's a true story about the worst dog in the world. Also, my first memoir read was Bloodletting about a self-mutilator. Good stuff.

I enjoy Plath as well, what is "Ariel" about?

"Ariel" is a collection of the poetry she wrote shortly before her suicide.

It's regarded as her best work.

All three of those books are some of my favorites.
I've read both Wuthering Heights and Lost Souls quite a few times.
I'm a big Poppy Z. Brite fan.
Excellent taste.

One of my big favorites is "Imajica" by Clive Barker.
It's not his horror stuff like he usually writes.
It's an amazing book.

Also, Chaucer "The Canterbury Tales" is brilliant.
And there is always Dante's "Divine Comedy."

I like Clive Barker as well. =) I love the entire horror genre. "Once" by James Herbert is good, but it's a book you either love or hate.

Heller's "Catch 22". Black and comedic. Easily his best.
