Hi,
Can someone suggest me a book on how to "mentally break someone". For example, when detectives interview a murder suspect, they understand all this shit, like body language, when somebody is bullshitting you, how to break them to tell the truth etc.. I just saw the other day in 'First 48', how this old skinny little guy made the big ass murder suspect admit to his crime, who really seemed mentally strong, I was just amazed. I'm foreign, so I'm not sure what exactly I'm looking for. Is that considered 'sub-branch' of psychology? Thanks!

to mentally break someone (unless your talking little emo girls via Bebo) they would actually have had to do something wrong first, some sort of guilt sitting on their shoulders.

It's just manipulation and clever lies. My fave is when they tell you that "your buddy said you did it". Mean cop, buddy cop is nice too.
Alot of things you just pick up on pretty easy like hesitation to answer a simple question, chain smoking, foot tapping, nail biting. It's like poker, bluffs and calls.

op, u literally just have to chain someone to a bed in a windowless room, no external stimulus for a few months and then they are pretty much catatonic. then u got a clean slate 2 work with.
