I'm racking my brain now trying to think of additional legendary and nostalgic PC games (that aren't direct sequels/prequels of stuff already posted). I guess it's time to start on SNES....

All of those games are solid, if not spectacular. Not a big fan of IoG, but Terranigma is pretty rad. (retro lingo for retro thread is still disdainful)

I've tried to play Terranigma before, and I really want to because I loved Illusion of Gaia as a kid, but it runs slightly jerkily on both SNES9X and ZSNES, so I've given it a pass.

It's weird, since all the other SNES games I have run perfectly smooth.

Are you referring to the initial world map that the character starts on and how it appears to be distorted with the curves in the horizon and all that? At first, I thought it was fucked up, but now I am pretty sure that was left intentionally to create a sense of depth or whatever giving the programmers an excuse to utilize mode 7. Once you get past that first world, the graphics of the game and the environments are quite dynamic and perfectly clear. It's just an optical effect.
