No need to flame me here. No they were saying that they would also lower the gfxs for the PS3 as well, so it be around the same as the 360.

All in all the PS3 was release far too soon... so I agree with you mostly.

Fuck, 90% of the time, games don't use the PS3's full graphics capability even if they ARE exclusive. Though it wasn't exclusive, Fallout 3 played better on the 360 than on the PS3, because the PS3's hardware and software are annoying and difficult to develop games for.

And as for the disc-swapping thing, well, that was standard with FFVII, FFVIII, and FFIX. If anything, it'll be nostalgic.

i got the ps3 slim a few weeks ago and so far no problems also got the 2 year warranty.

one thing is it makes a clicking sound every now and then...that's the only down side

the matt black finish is better than the glossy because it doesn't pick up finger prints and not much dust, and doesn't scratch.

It does look nice. Before, it was rather bloated and awkward-looking, and much too shiny.

I think what I'm going to do with consoles from now on is wait until they've neared the end of their life cycle to get them, because 1.) by then their library of games has matured, and 2.) they're nice and cheap at that point. I made the mistake of getting the XBox 360 way too early, and I'm quite lucky I still haven't gotten a red ring (then again, I barely ever play it).

That way, I'll always have the "newest" console... from my own perspective, that is. I'll have a full library of stuff to pick and choose from, and while I play the next generation will be maturing.

When you buy them as soon as they come out, they're overpriced, they may have technical problems corrected in later releases, and there aren't enough good fucking games for them for the next 2-3 years.

Once the PS3 comes down to $300 (or $200, if it goes down that far in the near future), I'll buy one. Until then I'll stick with borrowing my friend's PS3 for a week or two every time I want to play a PS3 game.

Already brought 12 games for it... came to £124 =)

The new PS3 lacks backward compatability, so if you want to play your PS2 games on it, it's not happening.

Also, the PS online thing may be free, but it sucks compared to XBox live. I have both so I'm just speaking from my personal experience.
All in all the 360 kicks it's ass, to me. Just my opinion.

So the tally right now is this:

RRoD fixed, nicer HD, quieter operation in late-model XBox 360s
PS3 smaller and sleeker, but no more backwards compatibility
XBox 360 never had real backwards compatibility to begin with
XBox Live still far better than... uh, whatever Sony has for PS3
PS3 costs 20% more, but has Blu-Ray and some games have slightly better graphics
XBox seems to have more and better exclusive titles, may change when Final Faggotry XIII releases

They're pretty close, actually.

Ill have to admit... im disappointed with the gfxs on the PS3. GTA4 on myy PC pisses all over the PS3 version due to gfxs... but they did have 8 months to improve on the PC version.

I don't think my PC could keep up with MGS4 now I think about it =).
