A girl had been to a festival in a small village, and it was a sunny evening in May.

The girl she got a big, golden and white foil balloon with stribes on a string that looked like a tiger.

Nobody else was out after the festival had closed earlier that day, as the girl held her big balloon that squeaked loudly while she walked down an empty road.

A starved and lifeless dog laid on the roadside, and it was very thin.

The girl rubbed the inflated tiger balloon against the lifeless dog on the thin stomach in long time, as none came by.

I'm always a bit embarrassed about being a Stephen King fan; because he's a household name and his books are so popular, there's a certain mass market air surrounding his novels. You can even find them in grocery stores in the US.

But that's a superficial impression. His work still seems very personal to me, written in the way that he wants to write it, without any "selling out," compromises, or demographic pandering.
