I honestly believe that is the only answer in such a case, yeah. That sort of animal behavior is simply beyond our reasoning. Just kill it, or in this case, them. Let God sort them out.

God gave us free will, my friend. Some are good stewards of that gift. Some are not. I personally believe God wishes us to look after one another, as best we can. Those who are strong, stand up for those who are weaker, and such.
I'd simply shoot those fellows, and send them to a higher court, as it were. I see no changing such behavior any other way.
I, of course, may be wrong.
