It is different, though.
I'm not claiming men don't flip their bananas when betrayed also, but how does the saying go? It doesn't go, "Hell hath no fury like a person scorned." It's pretty gender-specific. Of course men aren't 100% deadpan when it comes to betrayal, but I believe women take it to a whole new level, and I also believe that men place much less of an emphasis on SUSTAINING romantic relationships when it comes to self-esteem or self-worth. For men, the self-esteem and self-worth come primarily from winning a woman over to begin with, not from sustaining the relationship.
