You are right about draining the blood, I have heard that lots before but suffering is still suffering no matter how it is worded.

The horse may have suffered a 10 minute death, whereas animals raised purely for consumption(grocery store meat) live their entire live in some degree of suffering.

That is also true.Confined space/limited mobility, I have watched those PETA videos before so I know what you mean.I know there is a process when it comes to slaughtering but there could be an alternative more humane way like a quick death and then using a machine to pump the blood out or something (not sure if that has ever been thought of/used before) but I think it would greatly minimize suffering.I haven't been a member on this forum that long yet but you appear to be a pretty civilized decent guy.I agree with what you're saying because it is what it is and that's the way it is done.I am just voicing my opinion

Are you sure this applies to all meat? As far as I know, letting animals bleed out like that is part of the islamic ritual to make the meat 'halal' (kind of like the islamic counterpart to 'kosher'). I could be wrong on that, though

Slaughterhouse videos that I have seen, hang cows upside down and cut them open and bleed them out.

Wow that has to be one of the most brutal vids I've seen on here, the blood foam shooting up on to its head made it worse.

A bullet to the head would have saved all that.
