The Artwork of Boris Artzybasheff
Short version: Boris Artzybasheff - Russian. Born 1899, died 1965. Fought during the Russian Revolution in the White Army. Illustrator.

World War II was a prime era for political cartoonists. Passions ran high, and the whole world was at stake.

Lets look at Boris Artzybasheff's amazing illustrations from "As I See". (mainly because I have a hard one for WW2)

That guy had skills. Ahead of his time, obviously. I think influenced by medieval artist Hieronymus Bosch. Thanks for posting.

I always think of the 2 world wars as an artistic famine, there seems to be very little of worth around this time. Somehow among the carniage he was able to make something interesting.
