I believe that it must be incredibly difficult for the brother in this case.
I would assume he probably had to change his surname as well as go into a sort of anonymous seclusion in order to avoid all the bad karma his brother generated.
I would think also for his own protection against the vigilantes who would seek to make a name for themselves by killing Jeff Dahmer's brother.
And I can't begin to imagine how you would explain to your potential girlfriend or fiance that you were the brother of Jeff Dahmer....THE Jeff Dahmer
You could be a Nobel Peace Prize recipient and sadly that would not be suffient to trump "I have something to tell you, I was Jeff Dahmer's brother"
